Aoshima is not the Chinese island of Qingdao! It is a small island surrounded by 1.5km of subtropical plants in Miyazaki.
In the center of the island is Aoshima Shrine, which is very famous for its Japanese connection. Since the whole island is full of subtropical plants with a southern flavor, the whole atmosphere of the shrine is very different from that of the shrines in Japan. You can't quite feel it yet, but if you are there, you will realize the difference.
There is another famous spot on this small island. If you've been scrubbing the floor on your knees at home, you might feel a little numb when you see this spot. To get to Sekinoo Falls, one of the "Top 100 Waterfalls in Japan", we need to go back to the Capitol Station and then take a bus to the falls.
