In 2026, Yokohama, Japan's popular harbor city, will once again be transformed into a strawberry lover's paradise as the sweetest season of the year arrives in Japan at the end of winter and beginning of spring. Yokohama Strawberry Festival 2026, an annual event held at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse (Yokohama Akarenga Warehouse), will be held from February 5 to March 1, and this year's theme is "Ichigo-Trip," inviting travelers to embark on a sweet journey of taste and sight with specialty strawberries from all over Japan.

"The Yokohama Strawberry Festival 2026 is one of the most popular food events at Yokohama's Red Brick Warehouse every winter, and during the 2025 event attracted about 580,000 visitors, ranging from families and couples to young adults and tourists from overseas, making it a representative event that combines sightseeing and food.

The core concept of the event, "Strawberry Journey", is not just about tasting desserts, but is also a miniature tour of strawberry production areas in Japan. From classic varieties to local specialty strawberries, through desserts, beverages, groceries and experiential activities, participants were able to learn about Japanese strawberry culture through all five senses.

46 stores in one place, the largest ever!

This year's event featured 46 brands and stores, the most ever. Strawberry desserts, coffee and beverages, baked treats, limited edition products and creative handicrafts were all available at the venue to fulfill different needs, whether for photo-taking or on-site tasting.

Strawberries from all over Japan

During the event, you can see a variety of strawberries from different origins, such as Tochigi Tochigome from Tochigi Prefecture, Amao from Fukuoka Prefecture, and the dreamy-looking Light Snow Strawberry. Some of the products are sold in limited quantities on a daily basis, so early admission is recommended.

3-Day "National Strawberry Convention" Cooperation Program

This event is a three-day limited event in cooperation with the National Strawberry Conference (全國草莓會議, National Ichigo-kaikan), which invites the top strawberry-producing regions in Japan to participate.

It is expected that there will be direct sales of strawberries, free tastings, and variety comparisons, so that visitors can get to know the flavors of many origins at once. For the first time, Shimane Prefecture, Kanuma City in Tochigi Prefecture, and Ookuma Town in Fukushima Prefecture will also bring local strawberries to the event.

New Experience "Traveling Strawberry Crepe Barn"

The Traveling Strawberry Crepe Workshop (旅するいちごのクレープリー), an experiential booth that debuted this year, offers participants the freedom to choose from more than four strawberry origins and varieties selected daily, and customize their crepes with different creams and sauces.

This experience is not only suitable for couples and friends, but is also popular with families, making it a fun and tasty crowd pleaser.

Free Sampling and Sale Days

From time to time during the event, Yokohama City will hold direct sales of strawberries, as well as free tastings and sales of strawberries from all over the country. A total of 12 districts will participate in the event, and the dates will be announced on the official website.
