Pokémon Cafe TOKYO Reopens with Renovations on 6/17! New Menu and Reservations-Only System Guide

Pokémon Cafe TOKYO Reopens with Renovations on 6/17! New Menu and Reservations-Only System Guide

Travelers planning a pilgrimage to the Pokémon Cafe in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, take note. Pokémon Cafe TOKYO will reopen on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, after approximately three months of renovation. This reopening features not only a renewed interior but also new stage performances, a new menu, and special Pokémon 30th Anniversary stickers as a bonus, making it highly appealing to Pokémon fans.

However, the most important change is that after reopening, it will temporarily operate on a complete reservation system, and reservations can only be made online; you cannot rely on luck on the day. For Taiwanese travelers who wish to include it in their Tokyo independent trip, it is recommended to treat reservations as the third priority after flights and hotels, otherwise it would be a shame to arrive at Nihonbashi and be unable to enter.

Reopening on June 17, with new stage performances

Pokémon Cafe TOKYO, located in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, will feature a new dedicated Show Stage following its renovation. The new performance, starting June 17, is titled "Let’s Make Pika Pika Parfait," a roughly 10-minute show about making parfaits with Pikachu.

Pikachu will appear in one of three outfits: chef, waiter, or pastry chef, with the specific one encountered being random. For travelers who enjoy taking photos and collecting different Pikachu outfits, this will be the most memorable experience after the new store opens.

New menu and 30th anniversary sticker giveaway

Starting June 17th, six new Grand Menu items will also be launched, including meals and drinks inspired by popular Pokémon such as Mimikyu, Eevee, Snorlax, and Greninja. The price range will be approximately ¥2,090 for parfaits and pancakes, ¥2,530 for meal plates, and ¥1,375 for drinks, making it suitable to plan as a meal with dessert.

After reopening, Pokémon 30th anniversary logo stickers will also be offered as a special promotion. For every drink ordered, you will receive one "Pokémon 30th Anniversary Logo (Pokémon Cafe ver.)" sticker. There are 3 types available, distributed randomly, and quantities are limited. If you want to collect them all, it's more practical to go with multiple people and order drinks separately. However, random distribution does not guarantee you'll complete the set in one go.

Full appointments only; Taiwanese travelers need to book in advance.

After reopening, we will temporarily operate on a reservation-only basis, primarily through web reservations. Phone reservations will not be accepted. The Pokémon Cafe was already one of Tokyo's popular restaurants, and with new performances and special bonuses at the renovated and reopened location, the difficulty of reservations is likely to increase. We recommend confirming available reservation slots after deciding on your Tokyo travel dates, and then arranging your itinerary around Nihonbashi, Tokyo Station, or Ginza.

Nihonbashi's location is very convenient for travel. On the same day, you can group the Pokémon Cafe with Tokyo Station's Ichiban-gai, Coredo Muromachi, and Ginza shopping. If you have children with you, it's advisable not to schedule the cafe visit after a long journey. Reserve some energy for taking pictures, ordering, and watching the show, and the experience will be more complete.

Be aware of the old menu and the closing period.

The current Grand Menu of 12 items and the Special Menu of 4 items will be discontinued on Sunday, June 7, 2026. Monday, June 8, through Tuesday, June 16, will be a period of closure for adjustments prior to reopening. If you wish to try the old menu, you need to visit before June 7; if you want to see the new stage and new dishes, please wait until after June 17.

Traveler's tip

Pokémon Cafe isn't just a place to eat; you'll need time for photos, performances, and buying merchandise. It's recommended to allocate at least 90 minutes or more and avoid scheduling tight activities before or after. If your companions aren't Pokémon fans, consider combining a stroll and shopping in Nihonbashi on the same day so the entire trip isn't solely for one restaurant.
