Kyoto Tango Seasight Onsen Ryokan! Ryotei Kai Early Summer Kaiseki and Asaburo Slow Travel

Kyoto Tango Seasight Onsen Ryokan! Ryotei Kai Early Summer Kaiseki and Asaburo Slow Travel

If you want to avoid crowds on your trip to Kyoto and plan a quiet, adult getaway to the Sea of Japan side, Yuhi-ga-ura Onsen isRyotei Kai (Ryotei Kai - KAI -)It's perfect for a list. This hot spring inn with only 15 rooms is located in Kyotango City, Kyoto Prefecture, and features ocean views, hot springs, Tango seafood, and a peaceful stay. Special summer plans, including a select kaiseki meal and late checkout, will be available from April 1 to July 17, 2026.

For Taiwanese travelers, this isn't a typical spot for a first-time self-guided trip to Kyoto, but it's well-suited for a second or third visit to the Kansai region. Compared to the temples and shopping districts of Kyoto city, the sea, hot springs, and seasonal cuisine of the Tango Peninsula offer more of a "slow down" travel experience.

15-room seaside hot spring inn

Ryotei Kai is located in the Yūhino'ura Onsen area, and the atmosphere inside the establishment leans towards quiet and mature. If you dislike the crowds at large hot spring hotels, this type of small-scale inn makes it easier to settle down and rest. The open-air baths and observation baths offer views of the Sea of Japan, and the early summer evening scenery and the morning sea surface are especially suitable for a slow appreciation.

The most luxurious part of a trip isn't always cramming in as many sights as possible, but rather leaving a little more space. This plan includes a special perk of extending check-out from the usual 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, perfect for enjoying another soak in the hot springs in the morning, having a cup of coffee, and then setting off.

Eating clams in early summer, tasting Wudu rock oysters in July

Seasonal dishes from May to June feature large, plump sake-steamed clams, with three per person. In July, they switch to Maizuru rock oysters, highlighting the rich, fresh flavors of the Sea of Japan in summer. The kaiseki also includes Kuroge Wagyu beef, grilled local fish, and seasonal Tango delicacies, perfect for those who want their accommodation itself to be the highlight of their trip.

If you usually enjoy seafood, sake, and hot springs, Tango will offer a more seasonal experience than city restaurants. It's recommended to stay overnight rather than making it a day trip, so you can truly enjoy the sunset, dinner, night, and morning.

Accommodation Offers and the 10% Cashback Campaign

Our early summer special offer includes a base room rate of 5%OFF and complimentary late check-out. For weekday stays in a room with an open-air bath for two people, the starting price is 40,700 yen per person.

There is also a weekday-only cashback promotion for stays between May 25 and July 17.Eligible guests will receive shopping vouchers worth 101 TP and 3 TP (excluding tax) of their total accommodation cost, which can be used at Yuhigaura Parks and designated facilities for dining, shopping, or additional in-hotel meals. This is ideal for travelers who wish to pick up souvenirs or enjoy local cuisine while visiting Tango.
