Kozushima Hot Spring Winter Crab Tour: Eat 2 whole Matsuba crabs per person, stay in a century-old Japanese-style inn and visit other hot springs

Kozushima Hot Spring Winter Crab Tour: Eat 2 whole Matsuba crabs per person, stay in a century-old Japanese-style inn and visit other hot springs

Wanting to combine the Onsen Street, Yukata Walk, and a table of crab dishes into one trip to Kansai, Hyogo Kanso OnsenYutoku Sasakura (Yutoku Sakura)It is worth considering. The winter accommodation package launched by the inn is available from November 7, 2026 to March 31, 2027. For one night with two meals, each guest can enjoy a set menu equivalent to 2 giant sea crabs. In addition, the city of Kosuge outdoor hot spring tour ticket is included. Enjoying a day of hot spring bathing and shopping during the day, and a night of eating from boiling crab to baked crab all the way to crab stew, is a very seasonal Japanese winter arrangement.

Two giant clams per person, complete with serving dishes and eating methods from start to finish

The dinner included appetizers, whole steamed sea urchin, raw seafood sashimi, grilled sea urchin, sea urchin sukiyaki, sea urchin mixed stew, pickles, and dessert. Sea urchin is the name given to mature male snow crabs in the Yamashina region. The supply season is limited in winter; arranging a trip to Korozaki between November and March allows you to enjoy both hot spring baths and seasonal seafood during your stay.

The pace of the dinner is recommended to be slow. Start with the sweet-tasting steamed crab to experience the original flavor of the meat, then try the roasted crab for its aroma; once the suhi pot is done, don’t rush to leave; finish with a mixed dish filled with the soup and the crab’s juices to complete the most complete portion of this set. The menu will be adjusted according to the season and the availability of ingredients; for guests with food allergies or special dietary requirements, it’s best to ask directly when making a reservation.

Staying in a hundred-year-old Japanese-style building, touring the outer hot springs of Kosuge at night

Yuho Sasakura is located in the Kinosaki Onsen Street. The building has been in existence for over 110 years since the Taisho era. The room types can accommodate 2 to 8 people. The included outdoor bath tour ticket allows visitors to wear yukata and walk through the Onsen Street; the Yakusou Onsen (Yakusou Onsen) is about a 1-minute walk from the hotel; the Ryujyu Onsen, Ichinoyu Onsen, Gosho Onsen, and Mandala Onsen can also be reached on foot.

The charm of Korokawa lies not only in the hot springs within the hotel. Before dinner, you can warm up in one of the outdoor baths, then take a walk around town after eating the crab and head to the second one; the next morning you can even use the early-opening baths for a morning bath. Please note that the hot spring at Horonokawa is scheduled to undergo renovations until October 30. If your itinerary falls during this period, it’s best to check the operating information the day before you leave.

From Osaka or Kyoto, plan for one night's stay to be just right.

The inn is about a 5-minute walk from JR Korakuen Onsen Station. It is very friendly to travelers from Taiwan who don’t rent a car. From Osaka or Kyoto, you can treat the day of travel as a slow trip: after arriving in the afternoon, stay overnight, take a bath, and have a crab feast; the next day, after breakfast, visit the hot spring town and the specialty shops. This way, you can fully experience the quiet atmosphere of Korakuen at night rather than having to rush to leave after dinner.

Room prices vary depending on the date, room type, and number of guests. The starting price listed at the time of publication is 34,300 yen per person, including tax. The minimum number of guests is 6 adults sharing a room. If you plan to book for weekends, New Year’s Eve, or around the Lunar New Year, we recommend checking the availability and actual rates early. The cost for elementary school students is 70% of the adult price, and the package also includes dinner, breakfast, and a tour ticket to the onsen.

Before going to Korozaki in winter, please confirm the following matters first.

The autumn season is a popular time for crab, especially on weekends when they are often sold out quickly. It is best to book your room after confirming the date and then arrange for a JR ticket. The winter night in Onsen Street is cold, so you can add a shawl or coat over your yukata. You should also choose shoes that are easy to walk in and non-slip. Although a tour of the outdoor baths may seem easy, if you want to visit every one, you will spend more time than you expected. It is best to choose two or three places to enjoy them slowly and leave some time to return to the hotel for dinner. This is the most comfortable rhythm.
